Location: New Providence, The Bahamas; Project Type: Masterplanning/Civil Infrastructure/Landscape Architecture/Contract Administration; Value: $200 Million
The donation of a new National Stadium from the People’s Republic of China required the government of the Bahamas to provide support infrastructure for the new structure. The Government then wisely decided to consolidate the majority of Bahamian sporting federation activities on the 450 Acre site surrounding the new stadium. IBS was engaged to provide a comprehensive masterplan and civil infrastructure design that would accommodate the needs of Bahamian sporting activity for the next 20 years. IBS joint-ventured with the IBI group and assembled a team of best-in-class specialty firms to provide the wide range of services associated with the project. Services on the project included but were not limited to Traffic Impact Analysis, Environmental Impact Analysis, Economic Impact Analysis, Masterplanning, Civil Infrastructure, and Landscape Architecture. Once the various preliminary studies, reports and designs were completed, IBS compiled the tender documents and provided tender management services throughout the bid process. Throughout the construction process, IBS provided contract administration and construction quality control services on behalf of the Bahamian Government.
